My Chu's Pearls Journey When I first began Chu’s Pearls, I was 23 years old, recently married, and just bought a new home. My husband and I were just beginning to establish a routine and take on all the new responsibilities of being married and financially independent. My husband, Matt, and I both had jobs and were making ends meet, and we had no intention of searching for another job at that time. I found out about Chu’s Pearls when I attended a friend’s home show. To be honest, I went to be nice at first and really liked the product and the people. Elizabeth and Samson had beautiful jewelry there and they were such great prices. I left there, not even knowing that being a distributor was a possibility, and ended up booking my own show, along with some other friends and family that booked their own home shows as well. A few months later, I attended my grandma’s home show and my mom, sisters, and I began talking to Elizabeth about how she got her business started. This conversation led into the idea of being an independent distributor. Not really knowing what that entailed, we all began asking more questions. By the end of the show, we had all decided we would like to give it a try. It wasn’t hard, it was convenient, and it could provide a little extra money…and that is always a bonus! Most importantly though, we all believed in Elizabeth & Samson, and the visions that they had for their new company. When I first started actively working my business in August 2006, I realized how easy it was and how much fun it could be. Jewelry truly sells itself, and I really enjoyed that there was no presentation to the home shows. I just had to lay the jewelry out for guests in someone’s home, and people could mingle and have a good time together. There was no presentation I had to give; I just set up the jewelry like a store in their home. Aside from that, customers really enjoyed being able to buy the jewelry and take it home that day. The product is beautiful and it was not long before I realized how much everyone really likes it, especially when they see the prices! As a Chu’s Pearl’s distributor, I have learned to grow personally and professionally. I have had to step out of my comfort zone at times, but I have learned how capable and successful I can be in other situations. I have learned to be confident in myself in areas outside of my comfort zone. I have learned a lot about listening to others and I have met some amazing people! My favorite part of my Chu’s Pearls business is how convenient it is because I schedule shows when I have availability. I have seen how happy people can be when they buy something for someone e else that they know will be a big hit, or when they pamper themselves. I have learned a lot about myself and enjoy having my own business and working to accomplish goals within my business and personal life. I think Chu’s Pearls is really different and unique because the product is not any that you see anywhere else, especially not at this affordable price! The jewelry is of great quality and the company is honest about what they sell; we really try to educate our customers on what they are buying. Another unique quality with this business is that the owners truly care about their distributors and customers. The business is a true teamwork and a lot of personal and professional development options are available. Within this business, I will continue to increase my inventory and work harder at booking more home shows. I am always continuing to grow and learn. My ultimate goal would be that someday I am able to earn enough income through Chu’s Pearls to stay home with my children. I think Chu’s Pearls is a great opportunity, not just for me, but for others too because you are able to be flexible, own your own business, grow personally and professionally, and be as active as you choose to be. You make as much as you put into it, and it is a lot of fun!
